This was all in a huge part thanks to Heidi's great taste and vision. But it was PERFECT, and best of all hardly needed altering!Įveryone told me I looked like I had stepped out of Brides magazine on my wedding day, and I felt the most beautiful I had ever felt in my life. She brought me a bunch to try on, and nothing worked! So then she grabbed a taffeta fit and flare (with crinolines!) that I was reluctant to even try on, since it was nothing like I had wanted. I had come looking for a very simple lace mermaid with absolutely no poof. I attended a giveaway at the Georgetown salon, and Heidi pulled a "SYTTD" on me. I am now paying it forward and telling everyone I can about this amazing organization, in the hope that they will be able to spread the word as well. “The brides are so excited, happy and appreciative to be wedding gown shopping and nearly every single one cries!” says Ivers.I can't believe I almost missed out on this! One of my fiance's co-workers got her dress through BAA, otherwise I never would have found out about them. Between the three events, they’ve given away more than 50 wedding gowns. They also participated on July 4 and last Veteran’s Day. This was the third time that Brickhouse Bridal participated in Brides Across America. The ten dresses that the shop ended up giving away that day ranged from $1,000 to $2,000. The most in-demand ones were designed by Pronovias, Rosa Clara, and Henry Roth. “They give so much by serving themselves or supporting their fiancées who have been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.” Military Bride at Brickhouse Bridalīefore the big day, Brickhouse Bridal selected 100 gowns for military brides to choose from. “It’s so wonderful to see these brides,” says Brickhouse Bridal’s Jill Ivers. Brides came to Brickhouse Bridal from all over Texas and even as far away as Minnesota, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. To show their appreciation for our military personnel, this fabulous Spring bridal salon gave away-yes, gave away!-designer wedding gowns to military brides who visited the store on Wednesday, November 11. So last week, Brickhouse Bridal celebrated Veteran’s Day by joining 17 other bridal shops across the country to participate in Brides Across America. They also know that the price tag on those gorgeous gowns can be a bit hefty for military brides, who are already giving so much to our country. The shop knows that a gorgeous gown is the ticket to a perfect wedding day. So we were super excited to discover how Brickhouse Bridal in Spring saluted brides-to-be in the armed forces, as well as the fiancées of men in the military. One bit of advice: Brickhouse urges qualifying brides to wait until Thursday to come into the salon to search for their gown, since some gowns that will be featured in the giveaway may differ from those in the store’s regular stock. Salon staff will hand out numbers on a first-come first-served basis, and will bring qualifying brides (you must be engaged and on active duty, or have a fiancé on active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan, and provide verifying documentation) into the store for individual consultations, and assistance selecting the perfect gown from among nearly 250 options. 11, Brickhouse will open its doors to military brides as part of the Brides Across America Nationwide Military Gown Giveaway.
